Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level Lead Desktop & A/V Support Specialist to join Academic Technology - Technology Support Services (AT-TSS), a unit within UFIT.

Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida's innovative and inspirational community. As part of AT-TSS, this position will support students, faculty, and staff at the College of Law in navigating through a wide range of audio visual (A/V) and IT technologies. We are looking for a team player who values the importance of understanding customer needs and will work to assist other members of the team which is vital to everyone's success. A strong desire to continually find ways to improve the A/V experience in the College's classrooms, conference rooms, and other student meeting spaces is essential. Of equal importance is helping our customers successfully perform their roles by providing IT support at the highest level.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Provide high-level first and second tier technical support for instructors using classroom technology and audio-visual equipment support in all classrooms in College of Law
  • Respond to and resolve technical assistance from faculty, staff, and students
  • Assist in the development of completed system schematics, equipment lists, requisitions, and physical room and equipment integrations plans to ensure the designed system will meet end users' needs and campus standards.

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:

$21.63 - $24.04; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Valid FL driver's license required for driving University owned vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:
  • Crestron (Digital Media and DMPS, NVX, AirMedia, AV Framework, Fusion)
  • Expert knowledge in the following areas: (Audio/visual systems, Windows, Macintosh, Mobile device operating systems, and applications
  • Demonstrate high levels of customer service delivery
  • Adapt basic computer programming knowledge to other programming applications
  • Understand and connect complex A/V systems
