Position Summary:
The Class Laboratory Coordinator manages the chemistry instructional laboratories, supervises the LabServices staff, and ensures that all instructional laboratories are stocked and equipped as needed. The Class Laboratory Coordinator works closely with the faculty and teaching assistants on the development, testing, and implementation of laboratory exercises.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- Supervisory experience including planning, organizing, and directing work of subordinates
- Chemistry laboratory work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, PhD Preferred
- Chemistry research experience
- Strong knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and carry and/or otherwise move up to 30 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to move about the classroom laboratory to supervise and assist students performing experiments
