Location: Roanoke, TX Description: Our client is currently seeking a Java Developer - Senior (6-10 yrs.) Skills equiv. to 6-10 years in comparable position.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Creates user information solutions by developing, implementing and maintaining Java based components and interfaces.
Write well designed, testable, efficient code and ensure designs are in compliance with specifications. Will prepare and produce releases of software components.
Will support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
Must have hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns is a must.
Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, GWT, Spring MVC).
Experience with test-driven development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
1 - 2 years experience working with distributed applications across the full development and operational support life cycle
Experience with Java application development, SpringBoot and Core Java
Understanding of HTTP and RESTful services, relational and non-relational data stores, and Java development/build tools (such as Jira, IntelliJ , Git, Gradle, and Bamboo)
Experience with PCF and or other Cloud Offerings
Experience with MS SQL Server is a plus
Knowledge of design patterns
Experience working with geographically distributed teams, working collaboratively across team boundaries
Demonstrated ability to work alone or in a group while multi-tasking on different projects
Working knowledge of the Agile/Scrum development methodology a plus
