Position Overview

The SAP Data Migration Lead is responsible for the migration of all relevant data objects (master data and transactional data) from regional legacy systems onto the global Novelis SAP (S4) instance. The role is responsible for defining the end-to-end data migration methodology, defining transformation rules and business rules with the business key stakeholders, overseeing and ensuring the delivery of all aspects (including budget and timeline), and owning the validation and quality of the migrated data.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Define the end-to-end data migration methodology, transformation rules and business rules with the business key stakeholders
  • Manage migration project timeline, budget, and deliverables and provide regular status reports
  • Oversee all data governance aspects as part of the migration and provide a detailed gap/fit analysis for any necessary changes
  • Adapt or develop data migration tools to be able to load data into test systems and finally production system
  • Create or modify existing SAP LSMW's or Winshuttle scripts
  • Ensure data completeness, quality, and accuracy of the data before and after the data loads
  • Work with regional data owners to define data KPI's, review and sign-off criteria, as well as pre- and post-load reports/reviews.
  • Identify any changes related to items supporting the execution of master data for forms, processes, data quality reports, business rules, and work instructions

Challenges to expect:

  • Managing of work under pressure with tight timelines
  • Will need to estimate and manage available resources
  • Apply prior experience with SAP and data loads and understand the SAP tables and already available business rules
  • Influence business key stakeholders positively and manage change requests to data volume, migration methodology, key deliverables, and project timeline.
  • Manage risks in cooperation with the steering board and project manager.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in leading SAP (ECC or S4) data migrations.
  • Experience working with SAP FI/CO, MM, SD or PM and Master Data
  • Master Data Domain experience in one or more of the following data domains (e.g. Product, Business partners (Customer/Vendors), Client, Provider).
  • Experience collaborating data with owners and users/analysts across the Enterprise to modify or implement new repeatable and reliable businesses processes to improve and sustain effective data governance resulting in improved quality and consistency of data used to drive key business decisions.
  • Understanding of SQL scripting, Stored procedures, views, and data modeling.
  • Ability to execute and troubleshoot LSMW and IDOC errors
  • Basic understanding of ABAP/IDOC/BAPI
  • Understanding of data concepts, tools, and SQL. Ability to learn new tools to analyze data & data quality issues.
  • Able to work independently and escalate accordingly
  • Able to lead and facilitate meetings towards an end result
  • Creative thinking and ability to challenge existing or historical situations & solutions
  • Able to understand and resolve conflicts, partnering with business / functional finding winning solutions
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and professional skills
  • Experience with Informatica and Winshuttle tool sets and expertise in SQL Server Integration Services a plus
