Photography Inventory Specialist Summary

The Photo Studio Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate status and coordination of merchandise samples and stock pieces into the photo Studio for catalog, E-Commerce, and special shoots, both within the photo studio and on-location.

Core Job Functions

  • Create transfers based on the needs of the business (Catalogs, Newness, Reshoot Items, First Stock, etc.)
  • Work with the Inventory department to ensure pieces are being moved correctly & create seamless transfers.
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure the product will arrive and is unpacked in a timely manner.
  • Address any quality or packaging issues with internal partners.
  • Attend pre-production meetings record notes regarding when the product will arrive.
  • Create retouching cards for products that do not need to be photographed, and can be color corrected, resized.
  • Keep photo spreadsheets up to date noting the status of outstanding items and stock arrival dates
  • Work with Production Manager and Coordinator on scheduling the duration of shooting.
  • Ensure accuracy of internal inventory for annual cycle-count
  • Accurately maintain a database of in-house inventory and samples at all times
  • Manage transfers between inter-company departments.
  • Product assembly and disassembly
  • Maintain an efficient and organized workflow in a busy, high paced environment
  • Move product on and offset, as needed
  • Operate high reach equipment as needed
  • Help organize set walls, flooring, and other assets
  • Finding creative solutions to the storage of set pieces
  • Assist with keeping the studio and photo storage area neat and organized.

    • Understanding of general work practices in photography, warehousing, and distribution; including unwrapping merchandise, keeping items organized, moving pieces, working with photographers on angles and staging, picking, and scanning to photo out inventory processes and procedures.
    • Dedicated to business and allow flexibility with work hours if necessary

    Additional Requirements:
    • Valid Driver’s license (May be required to drive box trucks and vans as needed for pick-ups or location shoots).
    • Lift at least 50 pounds
    • Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
