Internal Audit Intern

About the Position

The Internal Audit Intern will work closely with the SVP and VP, Audit Services to assist in performing internal control, financial, and operational audits. The intern will assist the Internal Audit team in preparing test templates, performing attribute testing, and documenting findings for the audits assigned as well as performing other tasks related to the various phases of an audit including but not limited to planning, documentation, data compilation and analysis, testing, and reporting activities.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Create a general understanding of internal control procedures and become directly involved with testing the effectiveness of control procedures.
  2. Test the effectiveness of controls that play a key role in understanding the inner works of an audit.
  3. Follow up with additional questions or requests while performing the audits.
  4. Obtain data from other functions within the organization.


Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
  1. Currently seeking a bachelor's degree in Business, Audit Services, Risk and Compliance, or related field.
  2. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  3. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  4. Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as the willingness to ask questions and resolve problems.
  5. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  6. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  7. Travel required sometimes


This is a paid internship, running May 17 - August 6. All candidates must be able to work on site in Raleigh, NC.
