Overview / Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for an Instrument Designer to be located at a client site in Lake Charles, LA.

The position is funded through a long-term program expected to run for several years.

At this time, we will only consider applications from citizens of the UNITED STATES or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Functions in a primary design role, providing drawing and deliverable development while assisting the engineering lead to accomplish overall project objectives.
  • Performs tasks with competency and extensive knowledge of standard techniques, procedures and design criteria.
  • Create CAD designs/drawings from Engineering and Design sketches, mark-ups, go-bys, and verbal instruction.
  • Review and apply project standards and documents to assure they are compatible and aligned with the overall project objectives. Bring discrepancies to the attention of the Project Engineer for resolution.
  • Participate in available technical training while continuously improving technical skill sets.
  • To be embedded at the client site.


Skills / Qualifications

  • 2 year Associates degree - Instrumentation Control Systems or equal training / experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Proficient with appropriate department software tools AutoCAD, SPI, and various 3D modeling applications.
  • Proficient knowledge of P&IDs and instrumentation/control equipment.
  • Complete understanding of proper drawing organization and production.
  • Complete knowledge of design and drafting standards.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
  • High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills.
