Terms of Employment: Full-time, Faculty, Fall Semester 2024

Classification: Probationary Status

Salary Range: $45,726 - $81,858 Fall 2024 Rate, based on degree and experience. Excellent fringe benefits.

Job Duties:

  • Teaching assignments may include a full range of courses within the criminal justice programs including law enforcement and corrections career paths.
  • Teaching assignments may include a full range of undergraduate courses; such as Introduction to Criminal Justice, Police Procedures, Introduction to Corrections, The Court Function, etc.
  • Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, and/or online courses.
  • Teaching responsibilities include teaching courses, maintaining scheduled office hours, advising students, developing curriculum, and participating in college service, and professional development activities.
  • Leadership in developing and improving academic courses.
  • Community service is encouraged.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in criminal justice or related degree.
  • 4,000 documented hours of non-teaching work experience in the criminal justice field.
  • All academic degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Ability to maintain good relationships with students, staff, and community members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in criminal justice or related degree with at least 18 credit hours of graduate work in criminal justice course preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Experience and/or interest in using multimedia/new instructional technology in the classroom.
  • Experience and/or interest in assessment and occupational program coordination.
  • Experience and interest in utilizing Learning Management Systems for course enhancement or delivery.
  • The ability to teach courses in both law enforcement and corrections.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
  • Five years or more documented experience in law enforcement, corrections, and/or homeland security.
  • Passion for teaching students in an on-campus setting.
  • Experience teaching online courses.
  • Experience developing curriculum and/or academic programs.
