Overview
The salary for this position is $42.00 and is non-negotiable.

Under general supervision, incumbent is responsible for a broad variety of tasks associated the core functions and representing the major functions typical of work activities within the ITC series. In addition to possessing intermediate knowledge required of common software application packages, equipment platforms, database systems and sources, networks, data communication and multimedia systems, this level independently applies technical judgment to standard and non-standard applications and systems, solving a wide range of problems and developing practical and thorough solutions, and using effective communication and listening skills.

This is an intermediate-level position performing work relatively independently and possesses the experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all of the work assignments defined for their position.


Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The position is a part-time Instructional Technology Specialist to support II-CDL’s distance learning programs and training projects. We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Instructional Technology Specialist with a strong initiative and a keen interest in various learning technologies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences, with a primary focus on the effective utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies. As an Instructional Technology Specialist, you will coordinate with faculty and staff to integrate technology into instructional delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accessible eLearning using various tools and platforms such as PowerPoint, Storyline, and web-based learning systems like Moodle, D2L, YesLMS, etc. Additionally, you will employ common cloud-based technologies, such as Google Drive and OneDrive, to facilitate seamless collaboration and content management.
SPECIFIC DUTIES

The Instructional Technology Specialist is responsible for the following:

  • Collaborate with the instructional design team to understand learning objectives, target audiences, and project requirements.
  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing eLearning courses using PowerPoint and Articulate Storyline.
  • Use various web-based learning systems, such as Moodle, D2L, YesLMS, to create courses that integrate with our clients' learning management platforms.
  • Ensure accessibility of course and/or training materials used for various projects.
  • Take the initiative to research and stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in eLearning technologies.
  • Assist in implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of instructional materials to make continuous improvements.
  • Work closely with the instructional design team to transform content into engaging multimedia learning materials.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the seamless integration of eLearning content into the learning management system.
  • Use cloud-based technologies, including Google Drive and OneDrive, for efficient content storage, sharing, and collaboration.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and accessibility of developed content.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies as needed to meet project requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Strong knowledge and experience on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat, OneDrive, Google Drive, and other commonly used business applications and cloud-based technologies.
  • High level writing skills with experience in tutoring or providing instructions. Be prepared to provide examples of training and/or courses
  • Proficiency in multimedia authoring tools (Articulate Storyline preferred), video editing software, and other educational technology applications.
  • Demonstrated experience working with web-based learning systems like Moodle, D2L, or YesLMS.
  • Strong passion for technology-enhanced education and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines for digital content and online courses.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.


Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field or similar certified coursework in applicable field of study.
EXPERIENCE
  • Two-years of progressively responsible work experience performing instructional design activities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Work experience in a non-profit and/or academic environment
  • Knowledge of website accessibility and assistive technology
