Maintain Insert Room.

Store inserts in proper location. Keep accurate counts on receipts, disbursements and locations. Distribute records of activity to Production Control & Accounting and others as needed. Maintain locked storage area in a safe manner. Keep area clean and organized, sweep floor, pick up trash, etc. Minimize pilferage and theft.

Supplies Inserts to Molding & Finishing Departments

Be sure Molding & Finishing have needed inserts on time. Minimize waste and overruns. Distribute inserts daily for all shifts. Keep accurate records. Restock inserts returned from Molding & Finishing departments. Keep counts of returned unused inserts to account for all inserts that were issued to Molding & Finishing departments.

Perform Cycle Counts

Perform daily cycle counts of current inventory. Use scanner to count boxes that have not been opened. Weigh count boxes that have been opened since last count and make adjustments in the system. Re-label boxes that required adjustments. Contact accounting department before closing batch to review any changes.

Receive Inserts & Material

Newly received inserts should be checked for proper counts. Work with Quality Assurance to test for incoming quality. Create accurate records for receipt of inventory.

Assist Shipping & Packing Departments

Will be required to assist in the shipping and/or packing area for shipping and receiving duties, picking and packing orders. Will be required to fill in for absences, vacations and lunch breaks. Load and unload trucks as needed.

Perform additional Duties as assigned. Assist in other areas as needed.

Degree of Decision Making Power and Action without Higher Management Approval:

Responsible for keeping the insert room stocked and organized. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Significant Mental/Physical Demands of the Job:

Flow of work and character of duties involves normal manual dexterity for sustained periods.

Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally throughout the day.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

Maintain compliance with all Safety Rules and Regulations

Identify and report any safety risks, accidents, incidents (near miss), injuries and property damage at the workplace. Correct use of appropriate personal protective equipment

Specific Training, Knowledge, Skills Required:

  • Fluency in English
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills able to read, write, add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Experience in Inventory Management.
  • Use of hand truck and forklifts are required.
  • Requires basic PC skills.
  • Working knowledge of calipers, and gauges.
  • Quality Assurance background preferred.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills.
  • Requires excellent mobility and use of proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
  • Legible penmanship
  • Must be able to pass forklift certification.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, repeatedly, in order to put stock on shelves.
  • Safety Conscious
  • 5S and Lean Principles a plus
