The Industrial Engineer II - Material Flow and Logistics plays a key role in designing and supporting a wide range of logistics, material flow, material delivery, inventory, and warehousing projects. They will be involved with developing, implementing, and supporting processes for warehouse automation, logistics optimization in a multi plant setting, and solving supply chain related problems. This is a new role to Henny Penny and the role will be pivotal in designing and implementing the future of Henny Penny material flow, warehousing, and logistics functions.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Analyzes data and specifications to establish reasonable time delivery, storage, and production standards.
  • Applies industrial management techniques and principles to develop cost and time-saving recommendations and modifications to material flow, storage, staffing requirements, equipment, and facilities upgrades.
  • Designs and coordinates all phases of the logistics and warehousing process using industrial engineering principles and best practices.
  • Works with other engineers in planning work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, material flow, and workspace layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Coordinates with all parties implementation of new or redesigned processes to include establishing goals, training operators and managers, and evaluating results.
  • Lead less defined projects involving a moderate amount of complexity.
  • Apply knowledge to identify problems that are not immediately apparent and take action.
  • Develop all aspects of process design and implementation.
  • Implement internal process improvements and facilitate change management.
  • Complete tasks that support the overall schedule and clearly communicates status.
  • Maintain an organized and clean environment.
  • Represents Manufacturing and works within cross-functional teams (Quality, Safety, Design, Manufacturing) to identify and solve manufacturing-related problems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years manufacturing process experience.
  • Collaborative style and a passion for learning, laughing, and achieving.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience in a single piece flow, 1x1 manufacturing environment.
  • Proven process automation ability including AGV systems for material delivery/transport.
  • Strong knowledge using sequencing and kitting methods.
  • Competency in identifying and eliminating 8 manufacturing wastes: Transport, Inventory, Motion, Waiting, Over Production, Over Processing, Defects and Underutilization of Skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight for trainings and tradeshows.
  • Strong MS office, presentation, or PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong elemental, work balance table, time study, and value steam mapping analysis knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of workplace organization and material flow.
  • Strong labor routing, required to run, and standard work development skills.
  • Strong knowledge with continuous improvement, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of 5S principles within manufacturing.
  • Experienced with Kanban and just in time material delivery methods including timed train/tugger routes.
  • Experienced in using AutoCAD to generate layouts and flow routes.
  • Understanding of visual management principles.
  • Proven project management ability.
  • Detail oriented and strong creativity skills.
  • Ability to work with suppliers.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis using a data driven approach.
