Indirect Lending Officer


We are searching for an experienced Indirect Lending Officer
Indianapolis, Indiana

Essential Function

Responsible for evaluating and approving/declining credit decisions to Indirect Auto/Marine Dealers. Applicants will be forwarded to TCU from point of purchase transactions through independent automobile/marine dealerships.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

  1.  Accepts dealer loan applications from various sources, such as fax, internal, etc., being utilized from the dealers.
  2.  Evaluates loan applications utilizing TCU's lending matrix.
  3. Performs sound lending decisions based upon TCU's underwriting and documentation requirements.
  4. When appropriate and necessary, contacts the Finance Manager (or the appropriate contact at a particular dealer) and communicates the credit decision.
  5. Assists in reviewing, counseling and assisting in approving/declining loans for other departmental staff, as necessary.
  6. Assists in ongoing training of other loan staff, particularly in areas of expertise.
  7. Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

·        Ability to perform efficiently while working under deadlines and time constraints.


Accountability

  •  Personal lending limit may vary according to experience and quality of loan decisions.
  •  Responsible for protecting the Credit Union's assets.
  • A Loan Officer is expected to participate in community service and promotional events, which will foster their personal development and promote a positive image of the Credit Union in the community.
  • Meeting sales and underwriting goals as set out each year.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional relationship with the dealer by providing prompt, quality service.
  • Accountable for understanding and applying government laws and regulations and TCU policies and procedures relating to the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT and OFAC.

Minimum Requirements

·        High School diploma or GED

·        Minimum of one-year lending and/or financial experience and/or equivalent training at a financial institution.
