We are looking for outgoing, caring Russian Speaking Supervisor in Social Workers to work in our Brooklyn office to provide casework services and advocate for clients in the Holocaust Survivor Program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Conduct intakes, provide accurate information and referrals.
  • Screen and assist clients with applications and re-certifications for entitlements and benefits.
  • Assess clients in their home, hospital or other institutional setting as appropriate.
  • Arrange for provision of services; develop, implement & follow up on care plans.
  • Provide supportive counseling to clients as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with client, family members and other collaterals as appropriate.
  • Maintain complete and accurate case notes utilizing the program’s data system; and prepare required documentation in case file within organizational timeframes.
  • Maintain and report on statistics according to Selfhelp standards, utilizing the program’s data system and other forms of record keeping as needed.
  • Actively participate in supervision and staff meetings and share any emergent issues with supervisor.
  • Facilitate and assist at social, recreational and other group activities and events.
  • Supervise social work students (if applicable).
  • Adhere to organization’s standards by completing annual mandatory trainings in regard to regulatory compliance or good business practices.
  • Support organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers.
  • Adheres to the organization’s policy regarding absenteeism, appearance and health & safety standards

To be considered you must possess:
  • Masters in Social Work is required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other technology
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on treating clients with respect and dignity
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with a great attention to detail
  • Bilingual Russian/English
