Overview

McCarthy Services is looking for an HR Manager to join our leadership team.

This position will act as a strategic HR business partner and will serve as a link between the management team and employees. The ideal candidate should have experience with a more "hands on" approach focusing on employee engagement.

The HR Manager plans, directs, and coordinates human resources functions such as employee engagement events, personnel policies, and safety training compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
  • Responsible for creating a fun and interactive work environment for all employees
  • Works closely with managers to reduce turnover and raise retention
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion, and employee benefits.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of personnel changes and additions to employee files.
  • Identifies legal risks and ensures government reporting for EEO, ERISA and Wage & Hour regulations.
  • Manages the staffing process including the administration of pre-employment testing, as well as conducting interviews and reference checks on potential candidates.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to inform and foster a positive attitude toward company objectives.
  • Communicates and implements policies and procedures that meet the needs of the company and comply with regulatory guidelines.
  • Works closely with division human resources manager on succession planning issues to identify internal strengths for filling key openings in the service center. Provides feedback regarding employees' potential for promotion based on personal interaction, performance reviews and conversations with employees at all levels.
  • Maintains employee confidentiality and responds to requests for information.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills such as empathy, conflict resolution, active listening, and emotional intelligence
  • Strong background in safety complianace and training.
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential material
  • Strong ethics and the ability to work as an effective, collaborative team member
  • Strong relationship management skills with employees
