Position Summary

The Human Resources Coordinator provides support to the Human Resources team at our Bellwood, IL manufacturing facility. This role provides administrative support in all areas of human resources including new hire orientation, HRIS entry, payroll, performance management, training and development and recruiting activities. The HR Coordinator is a hands-on position that plays a critical role in the effectiveness of the HR function.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in the hiring process of employees, including scheduling and participating in interviews, tracking of new possible candidates, creating offer letters and submitting new employee background screens and drug tests.
  • Helps with new-hire procedures, including organizing employee orientation, creating new employee files and ensuring all necessary paperwork is submitted.
  • Verifies weekly payroll and time keeping data for the non-exempt population (Kronos).
  • Fosters positive employee relations and works to help answer questions from employees.
  • Manages changes to the HRIS systems (Workday & ADP).
  • Manages standard and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains that they are current.
  • Assists with preparation of performance review process and annual merit reviews.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and other departmental files in an organized, secure and confidential manner.
  • Leads by example in demonstrating the Company's operating principles.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, GMP and safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support Ferrara Candy Company business objectives.

  • Previous experience with HR systems (Workday, Kronos, ADP) preferred

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • SHRM certification a plus
