Overview

Assist the Executive Housekeeper, supervise and coordinate activities of room attendants, housemen, floor supervisors, and laundry associates. Assists in managing and directing the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions. Staffing, training, coaching, counselling and enforcing the resorts standard operating procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of relevant experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of leadership 
  • Ability to follow instructions, detail oriented, professional attitude, and ability to work independently.
  • Computer skills: excel, word, outlook, PMS, HCM. 
  • Telephone and Radio etiquette.

Physical Requirements:

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, picking, pinching, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of the hands, wrists and/or fingers.
  • Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
  • Subject to extreme heat:  Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.  Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
  • Subject to noise:  There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  • Required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
Responsibilities

  • Manage daily functions of the housekeeping dept. Supervise the laundry and room supervisors, rooms walks, inventory in rooms, room quality, efficiency and productivity of staff. Complete all final VIP walks, deep clean inspections and work order inspections. Ensure all staff has arrived or find substitutes for their rooms. Coordinate with front office any room discrepancies. Conduct daily associate meetings. Attend management meetings. Communicates to managers and front office when rooms are ready and changes rooms over for occupancy.  Attend to guest requests, complaints and resolutions at times speaking with upset guests via phone, email and in person.      
  • Ensures Operations Manager is properly training all department leadership and assists on as needed basis.  Responsible for maintaining and developing department training programs. Ensures completion of all training programs as required and motivates the team to ensure proper training results in the highest standards of guest satisfaction.  
  • Maintain existing schedules for department including daily room assignments, weekly employee schedules, deep clean, flooring/carpet programs, power washing. Major projects and preventative maintenance of any equipment. Identify areas where systems or schedules are needed and creates action plans to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Works with the Human Resources department for all department hiring. Takes the lead to ensure all interviewers are identifying strong candidates to develop the team. Ensures there is a department focus on retaining associates. Assists the Executive Housekeeper with all associate counselling, evaluations, and payroll.
  • Complete inventory counts and controls, fuel log, key request log, purchasing, ordering & receiving. Budgets and financials building and tracking daily, monthly, annual financials and budget preparations. Daily, weekly and monthly reporting. Provide information to Director of Lodging for monthly CPC’s and CPU’s labor and in-room cost matrix.
  • Oversee and report discrepancies, damages, and required repairs to equipment, vehicles, laundry building, rooms, office buildings, corporate office. Coordinate with vendors, schedule, and invoice and submit payments.
  • Ensures compliance with all Schlitterbahn and Cedar Fair safety initiatives including but not limited to SDS requirements, chemical trainings, and general safety trainings. Assembles necessary resources to provide to the department.
