Position Summary:

Provides direct department support for the daily operations of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation Hostel (Qavartarvik). Participates in the creation and maintenance of departmental databases.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be (19) years of age or older.
  • One (1) year computer experience with IBM or compatible.
  • One (1) year in clerical or office experience that indicates ability to acquire particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.
  • 1st aide/CPR certification or be certified within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic office equipment/computer.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently in a demanding and sometimes stressful work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize workland.
  • Team work is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision, set own goals to meet deadlines, be able to work in conjunction with others in department and other divisions of YKDRH to meet set goals is required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
