The Patient Account Representative is responsible for accurately transmitting electronic and paper claims for both primary and secondary insurance coverages; correcting claim edit errors in Epic Hospital Billing; and completing additional responsibilities, including but not limited to timely late charge billing, requesting information from outside Departments on specialized claims (e.g., Renal Dialysis, Outside Institutions, etc.)
The Patient Account Representative will transmit both primary and secondary claims for all payors. Corrects claim edit errors for timely claims submission. Requests information from different Departments as needed to bill clean claims to payors. Submits late charges and adjusted claims to all payors. Documents all billing activity in Epic Hospital Billing. Corrects registration errors in Epic Hospital Registration. Performing other duties as needed or assigned by the Manager or Director.
Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
