POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is a member of the Right Start for Infant Mental Health team, WellPower's team serving families with children birth to five years and pregnant individuals. Our team of clinicians works exclusively with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families to offer comprehensive, trauma-informed, culturally proficient, relationship-based interventions including: Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Circle of Security-Parenting, Trauma-Focused CBT and other clinical interventions as necessary. We also provide treatment to pregnant individuals and new caregivers experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders that threaten to affect infant development. The young children and families we serve present with a broad range of infant mental health concerns, but frequently have experienced trauma, abuse/neglect, removal from or loss of a primary caregiver, and as a result are exhibiting post-traumatic stress symptoms, behavioral challenges, depression, anxiety and/or distressed/disordered caregiver-child relationships. The primacy of the caregiver-child relationship is central to our work and thus the services offered are dyadic in nature. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance to documentation standards for all work performed. Bilingual Spanish required.

While the Right Start for Infant Mental Health team provides both outpatient and home/community-based services, this position is home based only. Cases designated as being at a home-based level of care include cases with higher symptoms severity, multiple caregiver involvement, need for multiple sessions per week, or need for more intensive care coordination due to involvement with multiple systems. Services are typically provided in the family's home or other community locations (as appropriate). Mileage is reimbursed and travel time is accounted for in work expectations.

This position is currently funded through the Right Start for Colorado workforce development initiative, thus will have access to all training offerings from Right Start for Colorado and other relevant resources and trainings including the Zero to Three conference.
