This position is responsible:

  • for evaluating the quality of the product being produced, report deficiencies to Lead or Supervisor so they can take appropriate action.
  • Team member must be able to keep up with line speed and be able to make decisions in a quick manner.
  • Must be a motivated individual with a desire to learn and implement new ideas.
  • Must also be able to work in an environment that changes frequently. Perform rework as needed.
  • Inform Lead or Supervisor of any mechanical breakdowns or production problems.
  • Can make product pathology dispositions and keep food safety dispositions a priority.
  • Conduct workflow for the New Poultry Inspection System (NPIS) Evisceration operation.
  • Team member will perform sorting activities which require inspection of each carcass.
  • When condemnable conditions are observed the carcasses will be disposed.
  • Carcasses exhibiting conditions that must be trimmed or washed will be identified and hung back to be reprocessed.
  • Carcasses that require salvage cut- up will also be identified.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Additional duties to perform job include:
  • the proper use of a knife, scissors, knife sharpener, and PPE. Able and willing to lift up to 50lb.
  • Able and willing to work on the stands more than 3 feet off the ground.
  • Working in a damp or hot, humid environment (+85° year-round).
  • Physical requirements may include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching are required.

•Former Tyson Team Members must be separated from the company for a minimum of 180 calendar days.
•Also, if you have worked at Tyson 3 times or more you will not be eligible for rehire.
