The Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) invites applications for a full-time Research Professor (assistant, associate, full) position. The incumbent will carry out responsibilities related to research and public service. The duties associated with the position are to primarily design and lead an impactful research program in an aerospace discipline. This will require the pursuit and acquisition of research funding to support it. The faculty will also potentially be required to perform some service in the department and optionally teach courses. A research professor in Aerospace Engineering at Illinois is a full member of the faculty, with voting rights and executive authority over their time and effort.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline. The successful candidate must have experience in conducting research and experience in obtaining funding to support research.

This is a nine-month, full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track, renewable position. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred starting date is as soon as possible but is negotiable.
