Job Location: Midway University - Midway, KY

The Graduate and International Admissions Counselor will recruit students for our Traditional and Graduate programs. The territory assigned will include international and domestic students and will report to both the Director for International Admissions and the Director for Traditional, Evening, Online and Graduate Admissions. This position responds to admissions inquiries via phone and email; respond to applicants regarding their application and materials submitted; and represent Midway University at virtual and in-person events. This position also advises new students in some cases. This position will work with other team members and departments across campus to complete the admissions process. The additional emphasis for the position is supporting international students through the admissions process via modern technologies such as Skype, WhatsApp, WeChat, and other methods. This position will also assist in developing, managing, and evaluating effectiveness of international student marketing and recruitment strategies as well as maintaining the relationships with the Consultants and US Education office abroad.Serves as the Designated School Official (DSO), maintaining the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) and all related certification requirements. Responsible for advising F1/F2 students on all matters related to their immigration status while studying. Maintaining accurate SEVIS record. Assist in keeping the school compliant with state, national, and organizational standards of compliance. Advises students with petitions, applications, and other standard issues related to F-1 visa status. This may include new F-1 visas, CPT/OPT work authorization, reinstatement, change of status, medical leaves, employment and/or reduced course load authorization. Advises on other personal, financial, enrollment, health insurance, travel, taxes, and scholarship/grant matters.

Bachelors degree required, with a masters preferred.; 1-3 years of related work experience in admissions, higher education or a sales environment.

  5. Valid drivers license is required.
