Summary Statement

Warm Springs Golf Course is a n 18-hole championship course shaded by mature trees, Warm Springs Golf Course is just minutes from downtown Boise. On the banks of the Boise River, the course features spacious fairways, well-tended greens, numerous ponds, and scenic views of the Boise Foothills.

The City of Boise is currently recruiting for the following positions:
Golf Shop Attendant

• Provide friendly, high-level customer service to patrons of the Golf Pro Shop
• Is currently open to all interested persons aged 16 and older
• Works up to 19 hours per week including evenings and weekends
• Is designated as At-Will
• Pays $12/hr

Golf Course Concession Attendant

• Pick up range balls, ensure the ball dispensers are consistently filled, collect empty ball baskets
• Maintenance of the range, facilities, and range equipment- gators, ball pickers, etc.
• Stage, park and clean golf carts, take out the garbage
• Assists in the golf shop and/or café
• Provide a high level of customer service by recommending products, taking orders, and registering customers for golf play
• Is open to all interested persons 16 years of age or older
• Works 19 hours a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Is designated as At-Will
• Pays $12/hr

Cook

• Prepares, cooks and presents a variety of foods for members and guests, parties, and catered events
• Is open to all interested persons aged 18 and above
• Is designated as At-Will
• Pays $14/hr

Essential Functions

Golf Shop Attendant Works in the Golf Pro Shop, stocks shelves with products, and cashiers, collects money, assists customers with product questions, sales of food and beverages, and t-shirt management. (50%)
Picks up balls on the driving range, cleans golf carts, and other assorted tasks as assigned by management. (50%)

Golf Course Concession Attendant Registers customers for tee-times, tournaments, lessons, cashier, and other events as they arise. Answers questions related to events and services provided. (50%)
Assists with duties in the golf shop including stocking shelves, assisting customers, selling products, and providing answers to golf product questions. Ensures the shop is clean, free of debris, and safe for customers. (30%)
Assists with the set-up of golf range, cart staging, and daily duties of the clubhouse.

Assists in the cafe by taking orders, serving food and drinks (age 19 and older only), and ensuring the facility is clean. (10%)

Cook Prepares meals to order using commercial kitchen equipment. Prepares inventory and ordering to ensure the kitchen is adequately stocked and expenses are properly managed. Develops new food and presentation ideas. (40%)
Ensures the highest quality and consistency of food preparation and presentation and that all food safety regulations are followed. (20%)
Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times and helps ensure the safety of fellow employees. (20%)
Uses positive customer service skills to interact with clients and provide a high-quality dining experience. (10%)

Requirements

Universal Requirements

• Applicants must be able to pass the City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation
• Display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of city employees, the general public, and other organizations
• Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
• Complete assignments in a timely fashion, understand and comply with all rules, policies, and regulations
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance
• Perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation

Golf Shop Attendant
Required

• Knowledge of the game of golf and golf products.
  
• Ability to exercise independent judgment, perform basic mathematical calculations, operate a cash register, and calculate change quickly and accurately
  

Preferred

• 2 years of experience at a golf course pro shop/front desk
  

Golf Course Concession Attendant
Required

• Experience overseeing or playing in golf tournaments, or working in a customer service or retail role
  
• Working knowledge of golf rules, regulations, golfing products, and accessories
  
• General customer service practices
  
• Ability to interact with customers and participants in a tactful manner, provide a high level of customer service to patrons
  

Preferred

• 1 year of experience working in a golf course pro-shop or related role
  
• CPR Certification
  
• TIP (Alcohol Servers Permit)
  
• Food handler permit
  

Cook
Required

• 1 year of experience as a cook
  
• Working knowledge of broiler, flat grill, fryer, convection oven, six-burner stove, meat slicer, and all cooking utensils
  
• Ability to be a diplomatic team player and lead fostering relationships with clients
  
• Develop and manage staff to achieve individual and departmental goals
  
• Multi-task and react to a variety of situations quickly and calmly
  
• Interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner
  

Preferred

• 2 years of experience as a cook

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. The noise level is frequently moderate. Work includes the sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision and distance vision. Employees will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
