Position Overview

The Global Sourcing Manager will lead all procurement activities for major capital investments within the category to achieve lowest possible costs for defined specifications. This will include establishing and leading the category management process for efficient, cost effective, and value added sourcing of plant infrastructure (e.g. buildings and installations) and engineering services (FEED study, EPCM contracts) also requiring management of key supplier relationships. He/she will also optimize capital procurement processes for infrastructure and engineering and train procurement, engineers, and project teams accordingly.
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for selected capital equipment which includes managing complex, cross-functional procurement activities in capital projects in the specific area of responsibility of >1 M$
  • Define procurement responsibilities and ensure best practices are applied for smaller projects within regions, ensuring close collaboration with regional teams
  • Analyse capital project plans in the region and ensure demand is leveraged regionally/globally as much as possible
  • Lead continuous improvement activities for capital process for equipment and services
  • Provide training for capital processed to various procurement, engineering and project teams
  • Handle all aspects of supplier relationship management including implementing best practices, evaluation of key suppliers, and developing relationships industry suppliers
  • Monitor and anticipate trends in supply, market, and industry to develop strategies, gain alignment with stakeholders, and execute plans
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing and proper post-contract management to deliver on year over year containment savings
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in global capital procurement function
  • Experience in capital procurement for plant infrastructure and engineering, knowledge of metal or automotive industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field; MBA or Master's degree in engineering is a plus
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 50% of the time
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to meet cost savings targets
  • Driven to manage work and navigate projects independently
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels across geographies as well as develop relationships with key suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus (German, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese) #TC1
