POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for leading value-added analysis, all financial planning activities (budgeting and forecasting) and strategic support for the entire American Woodmark Company. This is a senior financial position that will serve as a key member of the financial leadership team. We are seeking a hands-on leader who is able to deliver value-added business analysis as well as define and measure meaningful financial and operational metrics throughout the business that lead to insightful business decision-making. The Manager, FP&A will report to the Treasurer and provide business partnership to a team of controllers and the CFO.



IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

A strong predictor of success for the Manager, FP&A is a business partner who has significant experience enhancing an effective budgeting and forecasting process through strong analytical and planning skills. This role will have the ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization.



Experience


* Minimum of 10 years of experience required; experience with manufacturing financials preferred
* Experience developing, implementing and maintaining short, mid and long-term planning and forecasting models.
* Experience with ERP systems.

Skills


* Possesses core competencies in financial planning, financial modeling and analysis, capital budgeting and strong familiarity with corporate accounting.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to constructively explain business challenges to non-financial people as well as to effectively work cross-functionally with a variety of shareholders at multiple levels.
* Proven track record of providing business partnership and support to multiple levels of contributors, from very seasoned and senior level leaders to those early in their careers.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
* Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to such tasks as statistical math calculations, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
* Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Education


* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related major is required.
* MBA or Master's degree is preferred, and CPA is a plus.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Build and drive an efficient, user-friendly process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to provide analysis of key variances and trends to executive management and the Board of Directors.
* Partner with and support controller team through the effective use of financial analysis and consultative practices and techniques in alignment with American Woodmark expectations.
* Provide value-added insight into the business.
* Support and provide comprehensive reporting, analyses and projections of metrics and financials. Assist in the Development and enhancement of necessary dashboards to track business performance, identify trends and proactively engage with functional leaders to stay ahead of the curve, ultimately resulting in greater enterprise value and being recognized as an indispensable strategic partner to the leadership team.
* Provide leadership and direction to deliver a monthly reporting package that includes analysis of key business trends and actual versus plan variances, including comprehensive explanations of differences.
* Analyze opportunities and risk and make recommendations to senior management.
* Manage the company's entity-wide monthly forecast processes.
* Evaluate pricing and profitability analyses of prospective new business and sales opportunities.
* Develop presentations and analysis for the investment community.
* Supervisory Responsibilities: currently one (1) direct report with potential for additional team members



SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:


* Reports to: VP, Treasury
* Travel Requirements: Some out of town travel may be required up to 25%.
* The recruitment process may consist of any combination of phone, video and in person interviews.
