Overview

The Electrical Foreperson is responsbile for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and performing electrical maintenance and repairing of park rides, facilities, and other electrical installations on park grounds.

Qualifications

  • Supervises electricians including instructing, assigning, reviewing and planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, allocating personnel, selecting new associates, resolution of associate issues and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement an electrical preventative maintenance program.
  • Coordinate motor and equipment repairs with outside vendors.
  • Capable of performing research on special needs items and acquiring nessessary parts to keep park attractions
  • Remedies electrical equipment for both park rides & attractions and for park facilities.
  • Prepares budget and operating plan for assigned areas, ensure expenditures are in accordance with budget allocations.
  • Prepares cost analyses of assigned projects and forecasts accurate project completion dates. Coordinates with suppliers, contractors and other vendors regarding repair work, ensuring compliance with work deadlines and    compliance with company and regulatory guidelines and procedures
  • Review work of subordinates for effectiveness, evaluate and make recommendations as appropriate, offer advice and assistance as needed. Train new electricians and assist with operator training.  Ensures team members compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and standards of quality and safety.
  • Receives and reviews various records and reports including ride manuals and updates, new ride blueprints, operating schedules, check‑out sheets, work orders, vehicle maintenance check sheets, operational downtime sheets, material safety data sheets, purchase orders, modification forms, budget documents, and diagrams, etc.
  • Assists emergency personnel in emergency evacuation procedures, providing training to the staff, ride operators and technicians.
  • Schedules contractors for annual inspections
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities

 

  •     Working knowledge of medium‑voltage and low‑voltage power distribution, automation controls and various other electrical equipment.
  •     Small set of hand tools are required.
  •     Ability to effectively diagnose electrical equipment and make necessary repairs.
  •     Ability to interpret drawings and schematics in troubleshooting electrical equipment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all             units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and             interpret bar graphs.
  •     Ability to work independently with direct supervision
  •     Ability to anticipate, prepare, and plan ahead.
  •     Ability to work with other people.
  •     Ability to speak and understand English at a level sufficient to comprehend basic instructions from supervisors; conduct basis interactions      with other employees; answer simple questions.
  •     Ability to interpret the National Electical Code and apply safe work installations.
  •     Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to credit, criminal, DMV, previous            employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. 
  •     Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  •     Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
