Completes credit reviews of current and prospective clients to evaluate financial risk. Determines collateral requirements and communicates results to field underwriting and management personnel. Interacts with internal and external customers to ensure adherence to credit guidelines. Maintains financial records, including financial review statistics and collateral inventory.

Essential Functions

  • Perform credit and financial statement analysis of clients and prospective clients to determine ability to satisfy the financial obligations of commercial casualty insurance policies
  • Determine the collateral requirements based on the financial strength of the client/prospective client and the risk associated with the insurance program offered
  • Communication and enforcement of Credit policies/procedures to Underwriting Personnel
  • Interact with internal/external customers to resolve collateral/security agreement issues
  • Monitor and record receipt of security agreements, letter of credit contracts and other legal documents pertaining to the financial obligations of the client/prospective client.
  • Performs ad hoc analyses for upper level management
  • Demonstrate commitment to Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and apply knowledge of compliance policies and procedures, standards and laws applicable to job responsibilities in the performance of work.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial or accounting functions.
  • Knowledge of banking and financial institution practices, including credit evaluation
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Casualty Insurance, including alternative loss financing mechanisms, a plus
  • Microsoft Excel & accounting software experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis, judgement and sound decision making.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong planning/prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work both independently, and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization
