Financial Analyst

What You'll Do

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of HelpSystems. Partnering with department leadership, the accounting team, and treasury team are critical to success in this position. In support of the primary forecast and budget models, this role is responsible for continuously tracking and reporting on root causes of financial variance and altering forward-looking views to provide real-time insight into company performance. They will partner with business leaders on root cause analysis, variance analysis, and KPI dashboards as well as validating new expenditures, analyzing cash flow and balance sheet performance, and ensuring appropriate data maintenance and collection using Essbase.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the forecasting of accurate and timely P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow projections
• Own calculations of monthly and quarterly variable compensation amounts
• Analyze strategic revenue and expense options, make suggestions for financial improvement
• Working with the business and financial team, assist in development of the company's operating budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Analyze and review business unit results on a monthly basis and consult with General Managers and Budget Owners on monthly results
• Assist with the integration of the acquired companies
• Maintain and develop database of key financial metrics on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
• Supporting role in monthly financial reporting to executives and Board of Directors
• Analyze new product introductions, evaluate projects for financial feasibility, recognizing appropriate financial analytic needs across the company
• Assist with validation and documentation of financial policies and procedures
• Special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
• Minimum two years of experience in finance or accounting
• Business modeling both for existing company and acquisition targets
• Proficient in Excel, Hyperion Essbase and PowerBI experience preferred
• Comfortable interacting with a variety of stakeholders (i.e. management, sales, marketing, etc.) with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence
• Strong analytical and organization skills
• Must possess an inquisitive mind, have an ability to work independently and proactively, be accepting of ambiguity and fast paced-environment, and a quick learner with good technical and business acumen
• Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills
• Effective planning skills with good attention to detail
