Position Summary

Inspects film and laser products to customer specification prepares test reports, and works in SAP as needed. This role will also help, when required, in the Laser Strip, Cut, and Re-spool areas on an as-needed basis. This is a multifunction position and requires cross-training in all areas mentioned above. Primary responsibility will be film/laser inspection.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Inspects film and laser products to ensure products are produced to quality specifications. Pass/Fail Criteria.
2. Provides feedback on quality to film and laser at initial machine set up.
3. Maintains customer specification log and process documentation records, including scanning completed shop packs.
4. Ensures lot number control throughout film and laser process.
5. Prepares customer required documentation (test reports, labels, certifications of compliance, and other test reports
as required.
6. Manages customer sample requests.
7. Conveys customer requirements to medical re-spooling.

Cross Trained in the following tasks:
8. Properly calculate the number of windows and require length for order.
9. Identify differences between conforming and non-conforming products by visually inspecting using microscopes
and naked eye.
10. Safely thread up cutters, cutting wheels, respool machines, and laser stripers. (As needed)
11. Operates lasers, welders and tipping heaters in a safe quality-focused manner. (As needed)
12. Records measurements, labels spools, generate and file test reports.
13. Verify raw materials, check lot numbers and direct materials to specified areas.
14. Packages and labels film, cut to length pieces, laser wire, and welded parts

Education / Experience Requirements

1. High School diploma or GED preferred. Two years of manufacturing experience in the insulated wire, tubing, or wire & cable preferred. Knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
2. Skill in analyzing information of considerable difficulty and drawing valid conclusions; evaluating and implementing new methods and techniques for operational improvements.
3. Knowledge of site processes, equipment and infrastructure.
4. Skill in motivating, communicating with and instructing/training others, using both technical and non-technical language to explain complex subjects and processes.
5. Skill in oral communications for persuasive, training and technical purposes and in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with other employees and the general public.
6. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
