Job Description

This position if for a Feed Mill Operator FM02 position. The position is scheduled for 2nd Shift working Tuesday from 12AM to 4am and Wednesday through Friday from 4pm to 4am It has a base pay rate of $17.40 per hour.

This position is tasked to operate the milling process at the feed mill to combine feed ingredients per a formula. This process will provide a finished product to deliver to farms.
  • Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
  • Upon moving ingredients. supplies or material, ensure that the area is safe and there is enough space or accessibility provided for the team members.
  • Position may also require working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or other member of management.

Environmental Factors:
  • Must be able to work inside a facility, in a hot/warm/cold temperate, dusty environment, be able to maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Moving objects, electrical and mechanical hazards.
  • Adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • Must be able to climb and/or lift 50 lbs or more for an extended period of time throughout the day.

Requirements: Applicant must have 3 months of operator experience documented in their work history or resume. This can be from a combination of employers as long as the total is 3 months.

  • Must be able to climb and/or lift 50 lbs or more for an extended period of time throughout the day.
  • Good communication skills
  • Requires a Tyson Pallet Jack Operator license.
  • Requires Forklift Operator license.
  • Requires Boiler operator certification.
  • Must be able to maintain receiving and production logs throughout the day.
  • Operators are required to inspect their equipment daily.
  • Requires use of hands, arms, and legs to monitor production process in the department for proper operation, produce quality and quantity, and performing line duties as required.
  • This position requires the use of handheld devices.
  • This position requires the use of steel toe shoes.
  • The physical ability to stand throughout the day, bend and stoop without difficulty and use your hands for firm grasping and fine manipulation of equipment is required.

This facility accepts rehires after 365 days and only if the applicant has not worked more than two previous times for Tyson. Tyson reserves the right to require longer waiting periods or not accept rehires based on the reason for dismissal.
