As a Facility Supply Professional at Caterpillar Inc. in Waco, TX, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless coordination between procurement processes and the facility's operational needs. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting various supply-related activities within the facility, with a keen focus on optimizing efficiency and integration. From managing inventory to facilitating procurement procedures, your expertise will be instrumental in delivering excellence across the supply chain, ultimately contributing to the smooth operation and success of the facility.
What You Will Do:
- Supporting delivery of a lean, responsive, and resilient material and services flow for the facility from source to dock and additional required points.
- Recognizing the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
- Operating and monitoring the supply network procurement functions to meet the defined response time, cost, quality, and lean targets enabling optimal and efficient facility operations.
- Collaborating with business partners and suppliers, and resolving facility specific supplier issues
- Supports the resolution of quality issues and processes for the supply function in the manufacturing facility.
- Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.
- Participates in supplier quality improvement initiatives; works with suppliers to develop and improve quality levels.
- Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers, implementing process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits, and records.
- Identified quality problem(s) and determines a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications): - Degree/experience: bachelor's degree OR progressive experience in supply chain or procurement.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision making , with a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to inform strategic procurement decisions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Understanding of manufacturing requirements planning processes , including forecasting scheduling, and inventory management, to ensure efficient materials flow within the facility.
- Proven experience in supplier management , including vendor selection, contract negotiation, performance monitoring and issues resolution, to maintain strong and reliable supplier relationships.
