Auto Truck Group has a great opportunity for Fabrication Welder to join our growing business in Fort Wayne, IN!

The Fabrication Welder provides leadership and support for direction of daily work schedule, serves as the point of contact with the office to meet department goals. Possess the ability to critique and solve fabrication/welding related issues.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for performing some of the most complex work in the department as well as administrative support duties.
• Verifies work performed for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications; ensures adherence to safe work practices and procedures; assists in the evaluation of employees.
• Assemble truck body parts, includes bolting, cutting, welding, drilling and other techniques for mounting and building equipment.
• Assemble parts and special equipment for truck body design.
• Ability to work from blueprints and written specifications to meet customer specifications.
• Ability to visualize final assembled product before assembling components.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1+ years of previous welding experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory skills highly desired.
• Previous mig and aluminum welding experience is required.
• Previous experience using critical weld, mig weld and flux core weld clean - horizontal, uphill, downhill and overhead passes.
• Experience using cutting torch and plasma cutter helpful.
