Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking a Bridge Engineer in our Lebanon, NJ office. This is an excellent opportunity to work with one of the largest teams in the state while working on some of the region's most challenging projects. You will be involved in all phases of bridge project development, including planning, scheduling, inspection, analysis, design, and technical specifications and reports.


  • Perform structural analysis and design for bridge and other transportation related structures
  • Review and interpret design standards, policies, and regulations with application to design projects
  • Investigate design alternatives for both technical and economic impact
  • Coordinate the preparation of design plans and details
  • Perform site condition inspections
  • Prepare construction specifications, quantity estimates, and cost estimates
  • Review contractor submittals and respond to requests for information
  • Oversee the work of junior engineers and drafters
  • Assist with proposal response for targeted business pursuits
  • Communicate with clients

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred
  • New Jersey P.E. License required, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in vehicular, pedestrian, or railroad bridge design and transportation-related structures
  • Bridge inspection experience is a plus
  • Bridge rehabilitation experience is a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NJDOT and NJTA design standards and procedures
  • Extensive experience with AASHTO LRFD design standards and specifications
  • Knowledge of AREMA design standards and specifications is a plus
  • Experience with complex structural analysis software, such as CSiBridge, is preferred
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment on assigned project tasks
  • Ability to complete assignments with limited supervision
  • Willingness to learn, enthusiastic, and interested in growing professionally

Position Requirements
Minimum requirements:
  • Qualified candidate must have a valid driver's license and retain a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Ability to read and understand plans and direction given in the English language
  • Ability to write in English
  • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Word documents
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Excel documents
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Exchange emails with attachments
  • Be able to wear and work using GPI standard PPE, i.e. hard hats, safety vest, work boots, safety glasses/goggles
