VCA Waipahu Animal Hospital Team located in Honolulu, Hawaii is looking for an unlicensed Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join their 4-doctor general practice.

We need an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (minimum 2 years) to provide excellent patient care with a focus on wellness and client education. We are willing to train the right person. Veterinary Assistants are responsible for preparing exam rooms for the doctors and assisting in providing care for the patients hospitalized in the treatment area.

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. 4/10's with weekend availability.

Compensation: Starting at $16.50 - 18 / hour. Pay dependent on experience.

As a member of the VCA Waipahu team, you will support the Technician and Doctor team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent-by delivering an outstanding client experience-so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

  • Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
  • Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
  • Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
  • Providing compassionate care for our hospitalized animals.
  • Maintaining medical records.
  • Assisting our wonderful Doctor and Technician staff as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.
