Koch Finishing Systems is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in the metal finishing or manufacturing industries, with a strong background in the management, operation, or maintenance of metal finishing systems such as plating, anodizing, cleaning, phosphating, oxide, passivation, and chem film wet dip paint.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and apply detailed knowledge of machine specifications (bid package) to supplier RFQs (Request for Quotations).
  • Evaluate and apply labor requirements for various projects.
  • Engage and cultivate relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Understand and apply costing of Requests of Magnitude, budgetary, and firm price estimates.
  • Continuously research, update, and utilize historical data in cost estimating to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Have an understanding of industrial waste treatment systems in the metal finishing industry to incorporate related costs into project estimates.
  • Possess engineering/technical (electrical and mechanical) understanding of equipment utilized in industrial manufacturing to accurately assess equipment costs and requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of safety requirements to ensure compliance in project estimates.
  • Demonstrate high-level organizational and communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, AutoCAD, and other office applications for accurate estimation and documentation.
  • Basic accounting skills to assist in cost analysis and budgeting processes.

  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in metal finishing or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in metal finishing systems operations and maintenance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits or project meetings.
