Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Planner to support our Environmental Sciences and Land Use Planning group with an emphasis on environmental (CEQA/NEPA) assessment and permitting of renewable energy, electric transmission, and other energy generation facilities.

What Do You Get To Do In This Position:

  • Prepare environmental compliance documents in accordance with CEQA and NEPA documents with an emphasis on renewable energy and utility projects
  • Prepare technical studies (e.g., air quality, greenhouse gas, energy, and noise)
  • Prepare constraints and feasibility studies
  • Perform current planning duties from the entitlement stage through project implementation
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, engagement, quality service, and customer satisfaction to our public and private clients
  • Enhance Rincon's professional reputation and demonstrate the ability to be creative and innovative with these tasks while representing Rincon in a professional manner
  • Work closely with Rincon Principal(s) and Managers to promote our business interests in adherence with the company's mission, vision, and values


This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following:
  • Minimum B.S. in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Must have knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of environmental planning; federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to planning and environmental resources
  • A practical understanding of CEQA and/or NEPA, as well as knowledge of other federal, State, and local environmental statutes and regulations, is highly desirable
  • Highly motivated with excellent technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, strong time management skills, and innovative
  • Self-starter willing to tackle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
