As Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for developing detailed design drawings and relate specifications of electro-mechanical equipment using CAD and PLM software.

Reporting directly to the CAD Manager, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Use CAD software to create parts and assemblies from engineering sketches, specifications, and related data.
• Create detailed drawings of models for use by manufacturing and outside suppliers.
• Document work using department change management processes.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support product development and marketing with proposals, layouts, and spec sheet generation.
• Provide support to manufacturing by documenting changes to existing design or creating new design using change management processes.
• Prototype parts to verify fit, form, & function of new designs on equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Technical certification
• Up to 2 years' experience

Skills & Abilities:

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office experience and excellent communication skills - required
• Training and/or certification in any CAD software with willingness to learn others. Creo-Pro/E or Solidworks - preferred
• Understanding of prototyping techniques and ability to evaluate supplier capabilities - preferred
• Understanding of common fabrication and assembly techniques and manufacturing - preferred
