Job Summary

Primary Function:

Compile, prepare, and update data for distribution. Prepare and modify sketches and drawings using CAD software under engineering supervision. Perform a variety of semi-technical engineering and clerical duties, including maintaining files.

Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare, modify, and maintain sketches and drawings on CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or equivalent) and board drawings, under the guidance and direction of design engineering personnel. This includes the performance of basic dimensional/stack-up analysis and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Calculate data for charts, graphs, curves, and other means of data presentation.
  • Verify, document, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain files of technical information.
  • Prepare and update various non-technical reports for distribution.
  • Perform a variety of technical and non-technical tasks, as directed by design engineering personnel, pertaining to compilation, documentation, and verification of engineering data and records.
  • Maintain trouble record logs; distribute incoming trouble records to cognizant engineers and track disposition by the due date.
  • Execute good planning and organizing skills to effectively establish goals and objectives, assess resources needed, plan for change, coordinate across responsibilities, and balance planning efforts with day-to-day demands.
  • Evaluate work items and processes, identifying and recommending ways they could be performed more efficiently and/or effectively, as well as the training and developmental needs required to support recommendations.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • Requires a security clearance, however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated use of strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to receive and follow direction/instructions from cognizant engineering personnel.

BPMI provides design, manufacturing, and supply chain management of the fabrication, testing, delivery, installation, and field support of nuclear power plant components installed in submarines and aircraft carriers.
