Description Ambulance rides are no fun but having EMS with us who really knows what they are doing & is comforting makes a HUGE difference! We want to speak with you about an option for some extra shifts but in a slightly less chaotic atmosphere. We are looking for someone who is captivating & interactive for our students to learn from. Proper skills in a moving vehicle when you’re trying to save a life is not easy & it’s hard to learn those well without a good leader our students can follow in their confident footsteps.


Pay Rate: $15 (EMT) / $20 (Paramedic)
Schedule: Pick up schedule as available (10-20 hrs a month max); South Campus

Quick Glance of Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Submits all scholastic records by the established due date.
  2. Evaluates students to measure their progress toward the achievement of course outcomes/competencies.
  3. Manages and supervises students in all assigned classroom and laboratory activities to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  4. Maintains industry credentials as appropriate to the teaching area.
  5. Ensures that each program/class meets the WSU Tech Course Standard, includes all appropriate curricular components, utilizes effective teaching methods/practices (pedagogy) and reflects current field practices.
  6. Maintains an effective learning environment regardless of instructional modality (online, hybrid, or face to face).  Demonstrates lab skills in a manner consistent with lesson objectives.
  7. Engages with the appropriate staff members (Success Coaches, Disability services etc.) to assist with student success.
  8. Performs other duties as necessary at the discretion of the Program Director and/or Dean of Health Sciences.

Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Needed:
  • Current Kansas Emergency Medical Technician License or Kansas Paramedic License required.
  • 3 year’s work experience in industry, preferred.
  • Will maintain current EMS certification.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Obtains at own expense yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites.
  • Knowledgeable of the laws, regulations, and administrative processes affecting local, regional, and state pre-hospital emergency medical services systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of the proper safety and handling of materials used in the field.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to work with students, technical and administrative personnel in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
