About the job:

The Emergency Department Technician is a vital position that keeps our Emergency Departments operating at maximum efficiency with a focus on the details. They work side by side with talented caregivers to ensure that every patient that walks into our ED is treated to the best of our ability.

What you will do:
  • Assist patients with transport and escort throughout the hospital campus as needed.
  • Obtain vital signs, including: height, weight, blood glucose levels, and I&O, and reports changes/findings to RNs/medical staff accordingly.
  • Performs visual acuity, eye irrigations, equipment setups, wound care, and suture/staple removal, excluding facial injuries.
  • Responsible for phlebotomy and EKG testing, including collecting and transporting lab specimens.
  • Performs CLIA-waived testing as assigned.
  • Assist with keeping patient rooms stocked, cleaned, and orderly.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.
  • Completion of EKG and Phlebotomy courses and initial clinical competency course upon hire or transfer.
  • Completion and maintenance of BLS healthcare provider training required.
