Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Cleveland, TN plant for an Electro Mechanical Technician.

This position is primarily responsible for supporting manufacturing by maintaining and servicing equipment, and mechanical elements of component production. This includes maintaining operating capabilities, test, and/or calibrate, automated, servo-mechanical, electromechanical and/or robotic equipment. Works with various manuals and automated tools for some general maintenance change-out and troubleshooting. Assures skilled and timely support to manufacturing customers. Works with quality, materials, and other support departments to meet all target goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide support to the manufacturing processes by repairing industrial equipment including but not limited to electrical components, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems, compressors, and chillers.
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze electrical/mechanical schematics, block diagrams, and flow charts.
  • Have a working knowledge and understanding of NFPA 70E, MSDS, EPA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Install, wire, repair, modify, adjust, and/or calibrate production machinery and maintain current PLC backup programs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the following but not limited to facilities, CNC equipment, robotics, metal forming equipment, paint processes, and injection molding equipment.
  • Work with vendors and oversee contractors, as necessary.
  • Performs in-depth troubleshooting and analysis of AC vector drives, DC drives and electrical control systems including PLC's & Field IO Modules, basic and complex mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Make recommendations for inventoried parts and materials used for repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Support operational excellence, safety-minded workplace, and 5s standards in work areas.
  • Thinking creatively in servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that are used in manufacturing.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs in both major and minor repairs while operating under minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment focused highly on safety.
  • Read, follow, and understand work orders and instructions, processes, and procedures related to engineering data or reports, technical operating, service or repair manuals for equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Operate precision measuring tools or equipment, hand or power tools, calipers & micrometers, and electrical or electronic test devices, connections or components.
  • Performing physical activities as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Communicating and work effectively with all levels of the company, outside contractors, and vendors.
  • Operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, fork lifts, and other PIV's.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Must be multi-talented, extremely flexible in work assignments
  • Self-Motivated and willingness to integrate into a closely knit team

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, technical degree and/or vocational education preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years related technical experience in Electrical/Electronics, Electro-Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance.
  • Must have skills including but not limited to written communication, personal computer operation, read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, ladder diagrams, PLC programs, instrumentation and piping diagrams, equipment service and operating manuals.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, circuits, drives, controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Industrial welding and fabrication experience
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. by bending and stooping
  • CMRT certificate a plus.
