Department: Maintenance Location: Arcadia, LA

Business Purpose:
Effectively direct and plan maintenance activities within the Arcadia facility. Keep equipment operating to produce maximum quantity and quality products. Meet strategic objectives of the company.

Role Qualifications: (Required) & (Preferred)

Education:
High School or GED (R), BS in related field (P), Technical or trade school certification in electrical field (P).

Experience:
5 years' experience in maintenance related role (R), 3 years' experience in direct supervision (P).

Areas of Knowledge:
Electrical Systems (R), Mechanical Systems (P), preventative maintenance planning (R), general computer skills (R), Maintenance Operations (R), Project Management (P).

Skills:
Electrical Control Systems Troubleshooting (R), Electrical Print Reading (R), Mechanical Systems (P), general computer (R), Technical writing (R), Organization (R), Leadership (R), Safety Awareness (R), Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC Experience (P), Project Management (P).

Global Accountabilities for the Role:

  • Safety: Establish a safe work environment and training for maintenance personnel. Awareness of equipment safety and protection.
  • Quality: Ensure equipment is in full operation for quality products.
  • Productivity: Ensure reliability of equipment and look for continuous improvements for increasing production.
  • Costs: Monitor budget and stay within defined amounts for the department. Awareness of other departmental budgets that relate to maintenance material.

Specific Accountabilities for the Role:
1. Safety:
Promote safety first and direct safety activities within the department. Assure compliance with practices and procedures.
2. Project Management:
Coordinate and execute assigned capital and non-capital projects, working with vendors, contractors and departments within the plant.
3. Preventative Maintenance:
Plan and implement PM's plant wide. Create new PM's as needed to reduce machine downtime and improve reliability in all areas of responsibility
4. Continuous Improvements:
Provide improvements to equipment to exceed performance expectations, and reduce operating costs.
5. Planning:
Plan daily activities for skilled maintenance personnel.
6. Team Player:
Work with all departments to eliminate problems and offer recommendations.
7. Training:
Assure needed training for maintenance personnel is provided within departmental budget limits.
8.
Scope of Responsibility: All plant electrical systems including high voltage power lines, low voltage distribution systems, control systems, arc flash program, predictive testing and correction of problems found. Nonelectrical related responsibilities may also include overseeing contractor repairs in these areas: overhead crane maintenance, building repairs that may include structure, roof, and spill containment areas.
9. Give full support to the function, interactions of the managements systems subscribed to by the facility (i.e. AS 9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
