Job Title: Electrical Foreman (FDIC)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking an Electrical Foremanin Arlington, VA. with a work schedule of 7:00am - 3:00pm. This position is local 26 IBEW held CBA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Electrical Foreman shall be responsible for overseeing operations, maintenance and repair of electrical systems / equipment; and at a minimum, fulfill the following duties and responsibilities (This is a working foreman position):

  • Supervise a staff of 3 - 4 Licensed Electricians and Direct Subcontractors as needed. This includes ensuring that all work is performed to the appropriate standards, codes, and that all safety and security requirements are followed. Also must ensure that deadlines are met and that staff is productive.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment such as transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems, power and control circuits and other transmission equipment.
  • Use and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications to plan work on and / or troubleshoot electrical systems and components.
  • Troubleshoot faults or problems in equipment and distribution systems using test equipment and guide others in doing so.
  • Determine materials needed for jobs, and be responsible for the purchase of materials and supplies. Responsible for maintaining an adequate stock of electrical supplies that are used routinely both at DC and VASQ locations.
  • Develop labor and material cost and man hour estimates for projects where in-house personnel are used.
  • Support capital improvement projects using technical expertise and experience.
  • Help develop and implement the FDIC electrical safety programs.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate electrical tasks, including repairs and new work. This can include working with the client, EMCOR personnel and third-party professionals, including engineers, architects, and project managers.
  • Provide status reports on projects as required.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and be on site at odd hours. Some overtime is mandatory.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Highschool diploma or GED
  • Must have a Journeyman class A licensed and sufficient high -quality experience.
  • Must have 7-10 years of journeyman or better experience in large commercial, institutional and/or Government buildings.
  • Advanced knowledge of polyphase motors and related controls, switchgear, emergency power generation and systems, UPS, fire, HVAC, and related electrical building systems is required.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a Supervisor / Foreman of electricians in a commercial, institutional and/or Government building environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • A Master Electrician's License from a local jurisdiction is preferred,
  • Proficient knowledge of basic electronic control systems (analog and digital) as they apply to building automation and control is preferred.
  • Experience with data center power distribution systems is preferred.

Physical Demand

Position requires a significant amount of walking, bending, kneeling and lifting a minimum of 50lbs.
