Description
Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking an experienced Highway Engineer with a strong technical background to help further the growth and development of GPI's highway design presence in Maryland and the region. Opportunities for advancement are available. Experience with Maryland state, county, and municipal clients is advantageous. InRoads and/or OpenRoads experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Design horizontal and vertical alignment of roadways
  • Develop intersection and safety improvements
  • Provide roadside evaluation and design
  • Plan pedestrian and bicycle facilities
  • Establish maintenance of traffic design and controls
  • Assess right-of-way and utility impacts
  • Prepare cost estimates, specifications and submittal documents
  • Assist Project Manager with plan production and reports
  • Complete tasks within assigned schedule and budget
  • Work in Microstation and/or AutoCAD to produce deliverables
  • Mentor and train junior staff
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Professional Engineering license, preferably in Maryland

Position Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to read and understand plans and direction given in the English language
  • Ability to write in English
  • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Word documents
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Excel documents
    • Ability to create and or edit Microsoft Exchange emails with attachments
