SSM Health at Home is currently hiring for a caring and customer service driven individual looking for an opportunity to work in the healthcare industry!

The DME Technician is as important as any other function in the healthcare delivery system.You serve as the ambassador of service between the patient and SSM Health. In this role you will travel to patients homes to deliver and assist with durable medical equipment in addition to working in our warehouse.

Hours include: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (holidays, on-call and weekend rotation included).

Job Summary:
Delivers durable medical equipment and supplies to patients homes and educates on the proper use of the equipment. Performs warehouse duties.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Loads vehicle and transports durable medical equipment and supplies to and from patient homes and assembles as needed.
  • Provides instruction/education on safe equipment use to patients/caregivers.
  • Provides and reviews written documentation to patients/caregivers and obtains signatures on delivery documents.
  • Assists with cleaning and disinfecting of equipment.
  • Performs warehouse duties, such as shipping, receiving, and transferring of equipment/supplies.
  • Assists in training staff on policies and procedures within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
  • Three years' experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting/moving patients.
  • Occasional use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Occasional driving.
