Role: Director of Sourcing

Location: Wilder, KY (Hybrid)



The Director, Sourcing is a key functional leader and responsible for the development of a strong and agile supply base that supports operations while leveraging the company’s size and scale to drive economic benefits both in per unit cost and in cash flow. This role has responsibility for ~$500M of supplier and OEM spend and is a key leader in managing and improving turnover associated with the companies ~$20M of parts inventory. The role. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position leads a strategic workstream visible to key leaders up to the board of directors’ level.

Duties and Responsibilities

A Director, Sourcing is responsible for but not limited to the following:


* Drives the Sourcing function to be a high impact / integral part of the overall organization
* Establishes regular communication with regional leaders, operational excellence, fleet management, and national products teams to develop project pipeline and implement project plan
* Leads contract negotiations with new and existing suppliers
* Redesigns the purchase order process to ensure proper controls are in place and in line with the company’s limits of authority policy
* Streamlines supplier risk management to ensure a stable and compliant supply chain in support of operations
* Leverages Category Analysts to evaluate spending trends and opportunities to reduce cost and improve efficiency
* Challenges the status quo with data and analytics to draw out new ideas of improvement in the supply base
* Develops supply based and operational consumption actions to achieve overall cost reduction goal and overall cash improvement goals
* Establishes dashboard of pipeline, completed, and achieved cost reductions
* Enhances parts inventory management process in partnership with key stakeholders to improve inventory turnover
* Evaluates full economics of the actions to ensure maximum benefit achieved while ensuring a strong / stable supply base
* Leads the Sourcing team by establishing clear and concise goals for the team that align to company goals
* Provides clear and frequent communication ensuring team members are engaged and aware of the organization’s goals and how they are aligned to strategic outcomes
* Attracts, develops, and retains talent by cultivating a culture of learning and continuous improvement
* Travels domestically to supplier meetings, Maxim locations, or business-related events.

Requirements

Education:


* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or business related degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:


* At least five years of progressive work-related experience with at least five years of supervisory experience
* At least three years of contract negotiation experience
* Preferred - Experience working in a construction, equipment rentals or related industry

Skills


* Moderate level communication skills, must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence
* Moderate level proficiency in MS applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and BI tools
* Advanced ability to problem solve and make sound decisions during high pressure situations
* Advanced level multitasking skills with ability to meet deadlines
* Advanced level in market, cost, and supplier analysis as well as supply chain risk management and sustainability

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and travel up to 10% of the time domestically to other Maxim locations or business-related events.
