Job Summary
Altus Group is hiring a new Director in the Chicago area to deliver on the service line's business objectives; align the office/team's priorities to the service line's objectives; meet revenue targets; drive efficiency initiatives to contribute to margin improvement; expand and strengthen our brand in the market; and drive a high performance environment. This position is a hybrid role with in-office expectations.
Key Responsibilties:

  • Client service, retention and expansion - Protect, renew and expand existing clients. Maintain $750K book of business and increase revenue through scope expansion and cross selling into other tax offerings.
  • Set and uphold standards for service. Perform regular check-in meetings with clients and demonstrate to managers and consultants how to drive scope expansion and cross selling opportunities through partnership with directors in other areas of US Tax.
  • Build brand and local/expertise market share- Contribute to thought leadership, networking opportunities, speaking opportunities, webinars and social media to build self brand and Altus brand.
  • Take ownership of campaigns and initiatives in your local market or expertise and drive timely execution.
  • Track activity and ROI for continuous improvement. Support sales team as subject matter expert on sales meetings, timely and effectively.
  • Optimize process, technology and resources to drive efficiency - Lead by example with full adoption of processes, technology and standards for consistency and improvement across Tax.
  • Identify opportunities for process or efficiency improvement and take action. Help team members understand the business purpose and how to manage through the process with positivity.
  • Practice management - Closely monitor case status for high accuracy in forecasting, timely adjusting for material wins or misses. Monitor consultant and analyst workload for balance and optimal utilization.
  • Hold team members accountable for responsive, timely and accurate updates to all internal systems that affect internal reporting and client reporting.
  • Performance management - Develop analysts and consultants through teaching and shadowing opportunities and continuous feedback. Mentor and coach on career path and development opportunities. Drive engagement through positive and strong communication. Demonstrate and hold others accountable to Altus' values.

Key Qualifications:

  • Leadership and management scope experiences, managing a group of employees.
  • Expert in Property Tax
  • Minimum of 7 years working with Property Tax including Real, Personal and Complex Property Tax.
  • Previous work experience of high influence with negotiating and engagement in the service delivery to clients, prospects, appraisers and attorneys.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong people management skills.
