*This position will be based in El Paso, TX, Irvine, CA or New York, NY and temporarily eligible for Work from Home. When our offices reopen, you will be required to work from the office Monday-Friday. It can also be based remotely in Georgia or Florida.

What you will be doing:

The Director Systems Architecture will manage a team responsible for the design, development, and operation of global ecommerce websites.

The successful candidate will lead digital transformations aimed at making it easier for our consumers and customers to do business with us. We are seeking a quick-learner, highly adaptable solution architect / tech lead who enjoys collaborating with others on identifying secure, reliable and functional solutions. Will work in a fast paced and growing environment where your expertise will play a meaningful role within the company.


  • Recruit and own the development teams globally

  • Develop and nurture continuous improvement mentality across your group

  • Provide mentorship and expertise on system options, risk and impact management, as well as cost vs. benefit analysis

  • Uphold and ensure security requirements for tooling, systems, and environments are met and protect the assets of the company and our customers

  • Lead troubleshooting of system and performance problems in Prod/QA/Dev environments

  • Identify improvements to reduce technical debt

  • Lead and own enterprise architecture and ecommerce solutions across all ecommerce properties

  • Mentor global DevOps Team

  • Author a dynamic training and skillset improvement plan

  • Acquire team level certifications applicable to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

  • Support global enterprise projects & initiatives


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrate experience building and launching enterprise commerce (B2C & B2B) websites in Retail, CPQ, or other industry

  • Outstanding technical architecture problem-solving skills

  • Solid communication, analytical and deduction skills

  • Must have previously held an Architect role

  • Proven experience leading a team of Magento Developers or similar


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Java Enterprise frameworks like Spring and/or J2EE, the Microsoft .Net platform including .NET 3.5/4.0 or web technologies including XML, HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS, AJAX/JavaScript, Web Services/SOAP, SQL

  • 3+ years of experience in solution design and architecture of large, sophisticated web sites and/or web applications (web content management or ecommerce)

  • 2+ years of experience in the area of IT resource management or IT operations management

  • 10+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of experience with PHP and Magento

  • 3+ years of experience with Magento 2, as a full stack developer, tech lead or architect

  • 5+ years of experience in UI development and integration for the web and mobile applications that scale easily in a high-volume production environment.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
