Director of Policy and Impact

Location: New York, NY OR Santa Clara, CA, hybrid schedule

The Director of Policy and Impact drives Chegg's Center for Digital Learning and leads research programs that establishes the company's global thought leadership on student success and digital education. The Director will also oversee programming and operations for Chegg.org, including leadership of the Global Student Prize and the annual Global Student Survey. The role will work in partnership with product teams to review and recommend policies that uphold our commitment to academic integrity in our products and services.

  • Define and drive policy-based and reputational research initiatives.
  • Spearhead the development and publication of research reports and whitepapers.
  • Drive initiatives that support Chegg.org and Center for Digital Learning to achieve maximum impact for the audiences that they serve.
  • Manage and staff Chegg's Academic Advisory Board and Student Advisory Group.
  • Oversee Chegg's academic integrity program including working with product teams on Honor Shield and the Honor Code policy.
  • Maintain active engagement in the global higher education sector and stay apprised of trends and trend makers in the market.
  • Represent Chegg's expertise in the areas of policy and impact at events and conferences.
  • Work cross-functionally and in collaboration with various stakeholders across the company.
  • Oversee research and policy staff, external agencies, and consultants, and manage budget.

  • Understanding and experience with the higher ed, AI technology, and/or edtech sector
  • Experienced in research-based principles, research analytics, or academic research
  • Engaging connector of people of different interests and backgrounds
  • Proven ability to manage people effectively across multiple geographic locations.

Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Education, Public Policy, Communications, or related field preferred; professional experience in lieu of education considered.
  • 10+ years in policy development, higher education, or educational technology, with 5+ years in leadership
  • Experience in global policy development, and research for digital learning platforms. preferred

The pay range for this position is $198,668 to $398,956. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
