Position Summary:
The Director for the Center for Disability Access and Resources (CDAR) has responsibility for compliance with a broad range of state and federal disability laws and regulations, including Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Americans with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) and the Fair Housing Act. The Director provides leadership to the University of Idaho in maintaining compliance with these federal and state disability laws and regulations by coordinating and providing access for students with disabilities to all programs and services of the university. The Director provides administrative oversight for all disability accommodations and services for students; hires, trains and supervises CDAR employees; and educates, assists, and provides guidance to the campus community on disability accessibility. In addition, the Director has responsibility for accommodation requests by members of the community, including University of Idaho faculty and staff, when they are attending campus programs, services and activities as well as state-wide programs and activities that are sponsored by the University of Idaho. The Director provides leadership to and has administrative responsibility for the Raven Scholars program, a supportive transition program for neurodiverse students. The Director reports to the Executive Director of Counseling, Access and Testing.
